PHP 8.5 is now available

We are pleased to announce that PHP 8.5 is now available on our servers.

The PHP 8.5 binary is available via SSH using the following command: php85

How to switch your website to PHP 8.5?

To switch a website to PHP 8.5, add the following directive to its .htaccess file:

AddType application/x-httpd-php85 .php

If the .htaccess file does not exist, you can create it.

Important: Test your website after switching!

Before switching a production website, we recommend checking that your application, CMS, plugins, themes, and other dependencies are compatible with PHP 8.5.

After changing the PHP version, thoroughly test the website and all important functionality. In particular, check for PHP errors, deprecated functionality, and compatibility issues with third-party libraries or extensions.

If the website does not work correctly after the change, you can revert to the previous PHP version by restoring the corresponding PHP handler in .htaccess.

Please note that PHP 8.5 may introduce changes that affect applications written for older PHP versions. Make sure your software is updated to versions that support PHP 8.5 before switching.

We recommend testing the new PHP version on a staging or development copy of the website before applying the change to a production site.
